Sneak peak//Rain

Here is the first chapter to a book I'm writing that's set in the future =D please tell me any thoughts you have about it!

Chapter 1

My eyes flickered open, and a bright light shone right in my face. “No,” I moaned, “not yet. Just not yet. Just a moment longer…please.” I whimpered rolling over onto my side. I closed my eyes once again, pain coursing through my body.  I heard an evil chuckle and then cold, icy water hit my face. I yelped and jumped up.
“You-you!” I screamed. I grabbed my pillow and threw it across the room hitting Red right where I intended it- her face.
Red snorted a hideous laugh, “You should have seen your face when that water hit you!” she laughed again, “It was hysterical!” She said drawing out her last word as usual.
I stuck out my tongue at her and rolled my eyes.
“Wow,” she said, “that was just real mature of you. Just stick out your tongue. Do you really think that intimidates me?” She said sarcastically.
“Wow,” I said mocking her tone, “you really aren’t in a very charitable mood this morning are you?”
Red looked up and gave me an evil smile, “I’m just doing you a favor! Better I torture you to get out of bed then if you ran late. Then you’d have to face Night.” She said crossing her arms.
“That might be better then you splashing water on my face,” I said grumbling. I walked over to my closet. I waved my hand over the automatic door. “What would you like to wear today Rain?” The animated voice asked, “well obviously my regular uniform. Do I have anything else?” the rack in the closet quickly turned to her dark blue and gray uniform. “Well you have a different color uniform for each day, and-“
“Oh shut up!” I shouted at the automatic voice and walked away. The door closed behind me.
“Why do I have to have a stupid talking closet anyway? Couldn’t they just give me a wooden door, a hole in the wall, and some racks! That would be so much easier. Everything just has to be technology this, and technology that!” I mumbled under my breath angrily.
Red stared and me and blinked, “whoa…” she said slowly, “someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.”
“Well what do you expect?” I said pulling my shirt up and pointing to a nasty bruise on my side. “I got beat up, didn’t get to bed till late, and then I still had to wake up early, and my side hurts like fire.”
Red put her hands up on her hips, “not my fault you were idiot enough to stand up to Thorn like that. I could have told you that would happen.” She said gesturing to my bruise.
I sighed, “Whatever.” I mumbled. “What was I suppost to do? Let him beat up that kid. Besides I gave Thorn a nice shiner. He deserved it. Now his black eye will match the rest of his ugly face.” I said snorting in disgust.
“Thorn got you a lot worse then you got him,” Red said, “Everyone knows to stay away from him. Every one is a target for him to bully. But the ones who stand up to him like you did pay. Thorn doesn’t just forget things like this!” Red said concern lacing her words, “you’re now one of his number one targets.”
“What do I care?” I grumbled but concern began to itch my brain, “Thorn’s just a bully. He doesn’t have any real power over us.”
“Thorn is dangerous. You shouldn’t mess with him.”
“I wasn’t messing with him,” I said folding my arms, “I was protecting a defenseless kid whose face would have been deformed right now if it hadn’t been for me.”
“Oh ya!” Red snorted, “Same the kid’s face and in the process get you’re smashed up.”
“I can deal with it!” I shouted, “And Thorn didn’t mess up my face. Just my side.”
Red walked up to me and put her hand on my shoulder, “really Rain,” She said with concern, “ I don’t know what your deal is lately but you’re going to get yourself killed.”
I rolled my eyes, “Thorn’s a bully, not a murderer.”
Red shrugged, “Night might be.”
I glared, “why would you say that? And what does Night have to do with Thorn?”
Red shrugged, ‘the way he’s been watching you…it’s creepy. When Thorn beat you up he didn’t even try to stop it. He just watched until Dr. Woods came.”
I stood silent for a moment, “well who cares? He never cares for anyone but himself.”
“I’d watch out for Silver too.” Red said hesitatingly.
“Why?” I snorted, “She is so not a threat. She’s like half my size and she never says a word. No problem there.”
“She’s creepy,” Red said shivering, “I don’t trust her.”
“You don’t trust anyone,” I said.
“I trust you.” She whispered.
I looked up at Red and looked her full in the eye, “I trust you too,”
Red smiled, “well that’s nice of you to say.”
I rolled my eyes, “don’t get all emotional on me! The only reason we are so close is because we are partners. We’ve lived are whole lives together right here in this room.” I said throwing my hands around the somewhat spacey room we shared. There were two beds in the middle of the room, two chairs, two closets, a small bathroom, and that was about all there was to it. No pictures. No windows. No entertainment. It was pretty much bare besides for furniture.
“Yeah,” Red said smiling, “It’s a pretty cozy place. It’s like home.”
I turned around and headed towards the door, “more like a prison,” I muttered under my breath hoping she didn’t hear.
~
I felt someone nudge my elbow. I looked around to see Red staring at me.
“What?” I mouthed to her.
“Look,” she mouthed back her eyes darting to the front corner of the room. I followed her eyes. A tall, thick silhouette took up the whole corner of the classroom. Dark eyes stared back at her. It was Night.
I quickly looked down at my desk. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Why is he looking at me?
I looked back up; his dark eyes once again locked with mine. This time I didn’t look down. He clenched his jaw tight and stared even harder. He scared the tar out of me but I wouldn’t back down. I was going to win this. After a few more moments he dropped his gaze and walked to the other corner of the room out of my eyesight. This made me feel even more uncomfortable.
“Miss Rain? Rain? Are you listening to me?” My mind snapped back to attention. Mr. Flight stood over me his bleak eyes full of disapproval. He shoved his wired glasses up his thin nose.
“Uh, yes.”
“It seems to me as if you were daydreaming in class.” He said his dry voice making me cringe. Kids snickered from behind me. “Now could you please answer my question?”
“Uh…” I stammered, “Could you please repeat your question?” more kids giggled.
Mr. Flight grinned wickedly at me, “Silver?” He called out to a girl in the back, “could you please inform Rain the question I just asked?”
I looked back at Silver. Her dark hair was pulled back into a loose braid; her eyes the striking color of silver met mine. She hesitated. “Silver?” Mr. Flight prodded on.
“You asked who the overseer of Xamana was in 2021,” Silver said softly. She quickly ducked her head.
Mr. Flight was now looking back at me, “Your answer?” He questioned.
I rolled my eyes, “The overseer of Xamana in 2021 was Weston Valetta who was also the founder of Xamana. He founded the city on January 1st, 2021.” I said matter of factly. Mr. Flight frowned, “very good,” He said even though his expression suggested otherwise, “it seems to me that you have been studying your history.”
“Yes I have actually,” I stated.
He nodded and then turned back towards the front of the class continuing his lecture.
“I have been studying my history. And there isn’t much of it. There is nothing in the public records that dates before 2020. Wouldn’t really call that history. More like a mystery.” I thought to myself

The Warning

   The
Warning

Hello there! My name is Scott Denton and today I have a story to tell you; but this isn’t just an ordinary story, this is the story about how my life changed in a matter of minutes. And this is how it all began…
~
“Hey Scott!” hollered Lewis Cross from across the sidewalk, he ran over to me and grabbed my shoulder to keep him up from running so hard.
“So, are you…coming…or not?” he asked gasping for breath.
“I don’t know,” I said reluctantly, “What if old Mr. Douglass catches us on his private property?”
“He won’t!” Lewis said, “That old grouch is always cooped up in that old trailer of his!”
“Well, I don’t know,” I said, “who else is going?”
“Oh just Hector, Noah, and Aaron.” Lewis replied.
I signed, “All right I’ll go, but if we get caught I’m blaming it on you since it was your idea and all.”
Lewis rolled his eyes, “Whatever! We won’t get caught we never do!” He said with a smile, “besides it’s going to be fun.”
~
I stood on my front porch dreading what I was about to do in a few moments, Lewis and his buddies were going to meet me on their bikes and then we were going to sneak onto Mr. Douglass’s property to catch some rattlesnakes that Lewis had supposedly seen on the property.  we were going to capture them and sell them to this guy Lewis knew about that would give a pretty penny for some snake skins.
“What am I thinking?” I thought to myself, “One of us could get seriously hurt or worse! Rattlesnakes are poisonous, I know Lewis said he has some thick gloves that we were going to wear, and we all had been instructed to wear rubber boots so we wouldn’t be able to be bitten on the leg.”
“I hate high school!” I muttered to him, “All of a sudden I’m trying to fit in with the crowd and doing stupid stuff just to have some popular friends.”
I kicked a pebble across the road, “and mom would kill me if she knew what I was doing.”
A few minutes later Lewis and his friends showed up on their bikes, “You ready Scott?” Lewis asked.
“Ya, I guess,” I muttered beneath my breath.
“You look a little hesitant,” Hector said.
‘ Ya, well maybe we shouldn’t go! I mean someone could get bitten.” I said with my eyes to the ground.
Lewis laughed out loud.
“You chicken Scott?” Noah asked with a smirk on his face.
“Chicken, chicken!” Aaron started chanting until they all joined in.
“No, I’m not!” I said firmly, “I’m coming, I was just being cautious is all.”
The boys smirked.
“Well then get your bike and come on!” Lewis hollered before he started pedaling down the road.
~
When we got to Mr. Douglass’s fence there was warning signs all over. My eyes roamed all over the many warnings.
DO NOT ENTER
WARNING: Dangerous territory
PRIVatE PROPERY
“UH, guys, look at the…” I started to say but when I looked up I saw that the others had already crawled under the fence and were walking away not even noticing the signs.
I sighed and then took off after them.
~
I looked around carefully and tried to walk as quietly as I could in the dense woods.
“The nest is right ahead,” Lewis whispered, “You got the bag Aaron?”
“ Ya,” he whispered back.
“Ok, I brought these things to catch them with!” Lewis said.
I looked at the four long stick things with a claw at the end of them.
“Are you sure that’s what you’re supposed to use?” I asked, “It looks like those pooper scooper things you can get at Wal-Mart, or those things that people pick up garbage off the side of the road with.”
Lewis gave me a hard glare and growled, ‘I saw them use this on TV to capture snakes and I DIDN’T GET IT AT WAL-MART!”
“ Whoa!” I said backing up, “No reason to get angry, “But um… where did you get it?” I asked with a smile.
“None of your business!” He screamed.
Aaron & Noah snickered, and Hector butted in, “I saw him get them at Target,” He said laughing.
I grinned and was about to laugh when Lewis stomped off and said over his shoulder, “You better learn to keep your mouth shut Hector!”
After a few minutes we found the rattlesnake’s nest, it actually wasn’t that hard since you could already here their rattlers.
“What now?” Noah asked.
“We get them!” Lewis said with a cocky grin on his face, “Scott would you like to have the honor of capturing the first one?”
I gulped, “Well I…”
“I’ll take that as a yes!” He said shoving the bag in my arms and gave me the claw thing.
“But how do I…” Suddenly my voice was cut off from a loud gunshot in the distance.
Before I knew what happened I heard Aaron scream in pain and drop to the floor, Lewis started running, and my first instinct was to duck. I heard another scream from Noah and I looked up to see him a few feet away holding his leg that was bleeding.
I laid there on the ground my heart-thumping and head pounding. I didn’t know what was going on and I didn’t know what to do.
I heard footsteps a few feet to my right, looking around I saw Mr. Douglass with a shotgun in his hand and a shocked expression on his face, “What have I done?” He screamed collapsing on the ground, “I thought it was an animal! Oh Lord, what have I done?” He yelled tears falling down his cheeks. I tried to crawl away as fast as I could my body shaking in fright. I started running. I heard a hiss and then a sharp pain in my leg, I screamed in pain, but kept running. I didn’t know where I was going but I had to get away, I had to get help.
~
I opened my eyes and heard the faint noise of beeping, I looked around  and saw that I was lying in a hospital bed; my mom and dad were sitting asleep in a chair in the room’s corner. My leg still throbbed in pain.
“What happened?” I whispered, “Where am I?”
And then I remembered the awful scene that I had witnessed.  I remember running, and running until I got to my house and then collapsing on the front porch.
“Mom?” I said loud enough for her to hear me, “dad?”
They stirred and then woke up.
My mom jumped up and ran to me, “Oh Scott!” She said tears rolling down her eyes, “I was so worried! How are you feeling? How is your leg?”
“What…what happened?” I asked, “Where are all of the other boys?”
My mom reached out and patted my hand more tears coming into her eyes.
I tried to sit up but it hurt to bad, “What? Where are Aaron, and Noah, and what about Lewis?”
“Scott,” My dad said softly, “How about you lay down for a few minutes and rest.”
“No!” I screamed, “What’s going on?”
My dad sighed, “Scott do you remember anything about what actually happened in the woods?”
I shook my head, “No not much.”
“ Scott I don’t know what you guys were doing out there but I know this -you should have never been there!”
“I know, I know!” I said, “I tried to tell them to listen to the warning signs but they didn’t!”
My dad sighed, “You could have listened.”
I put my head down in shame, “I know, I’m sorry! But can you please tell me what happened?”

“Well… Mr. Douglass was out on his property hunting when he saw you boys out there; well let’s say he didn’t know it was you. He has bad eyesight and the woods are thick out there and he thought you boys were deer and…”
“He didn’t shoot someone did he?” I asked eyes wide, “Please tell me the others are OK, please tell me…”
“Scott,” my dad said tears beginning to form, “Aaron was shot in the back, he died before we could even get him to the hospital, and Noah got shot in the leg… it had to be amputated.”
I laid back on my pillows the tears flowing down my cheeks, “and Lewis?”
“He got scared by the gunshots and ran but he… he fell unto some rattlesnakes and got bitten various times. He’s… he’s gone too.”
“But, how?...why?... Why am I still here? Why am I not dead?”
“You only got bit by one snake, your wound was bad but you’re going to make it just fine.”
Tears fell down so rapidly I could barely see.
“Why, couldn’t I have died too? It’s not fair that all of those boys got killed, besides Noah who now he doesn’t have a leg! How can he live like that? Why did I turn out Ok? Why…”
“Scott!” My mom said, “Please don’t talk like that, God let you live. And I am so glad that He did.”
“Well I’m not!” I screamed, “The man who killed my friends is going to pay! He’s going to…”
“Scott,” my dad whispered sadness filling his eyes; “Mr. Douglass didn’t mean to kill them! He didn’t know. He tried to keep them away by putting up warning signs but you guys didn’t listen!”
“ Still, I…”
“Scott, you’ve been unconscious for four days. And in that time…well… Mr. Douglass has committed suicide. He blamed himself for the accident.”
I looked up at the ceiling and wished that I would die right there and then for I wouldn’t have to live with those memories haunting me. But at that time I didn’t know that God had something else planned for me…
~
4 weeks later

“Hey there Scottie!” My Grandpa hollered at me from his rocking chair on his front porch.
I waved and smiled.
My Grandpa was probably my favorite person on the planet; I hadn’t seen him for a while so I decided to come visit him for the day.
“Hey Grandpa, haven’t seen you for awhile.” I said cheerfully, I hadn’t smiled much since the accident but Grandpa always had a way of making a person cheerful.
“Yes sireee! Haven’t seen you in 4 weeks to be exact!”
“Ya, I guess that’s about right,” I said.
I walked up onto his front porch and sat down next to his rocker.
“How are you doing?” Grandpa asked quietly.
“Uh…not so good,” I said bluntly looking at the ground.
“Want to talk about it?”
“No, not really.” I said.
“Well, I feel like I should talk about something to you.” Grandpa said, “You know this accident made me think about something; I was thinking about what a good opportunity it is for me to tell you about God and…”
“OH Grandpa!” I said holding up my hands in protest I really don’t want to hear about your religion again! I’ve heard it already!”
“ Scott, won’t you at least hear what I have to say!?!” Grandpa asked, his eyes pleading.
“All right,” I said sighing.
“First off Scott don’t you ever think about how blessed you are to still be alive? Don’t you think there is a reason?”
“Uh first off I was just lucky, and you know what!?! I wish I had died, because every day now those horrible memories flood my mind! I’m miserable.” I said tears about ready to fall down my cheeks.
“I know you’re miserable Scott, but it doesn’t have to be that way!” Grandpa said.
“Grandpa I…”
“Just let me finish, please!?!”
“Fine,” I said blowing out my breath, “I guess it won’t hurt.”
~
“Scott remember those warning signs that you and your friends saw on Mr. Douglas’s property?” My grandpa asked.
“Yes,” I said.
“Well you know what those warning signs remind me of? They remind me of people like me- Christians. Who are trying to tell others about Jesus and about the penalty of sin which is Hell! And just like you and your friends ignored those warning signs, so are so many lost sinners ignoring the Warning that we are giving them about sin and its penalty. And while so many people think that they have all the time in the world to live the way they want and to sin against God without getting punished, they are wrong! Just like how you and your friends ignored the warning signs, you didn’t think you get caught or hurt, but what happened?”
“We got caught…and hurt.” I said choking.
“Yes and it cost you a terrible price! But an even more terrible thing than getting bit by a rattlesnake or shot because you ignored a warning, would be to ignore the warning God’s people are giving you and then to die and spend eternity in Hell! It would be far, far worse.” My grandpa said tears in his eyes.
I could feel tears in my eyes threatening to spill.
“And the thing is Scottie,” he said choking up, “I don’t think you’ve listened to my warnings, and if you had died in the woods that day… I just… I just would have never forgiven myself.” He said breaking in to a sob, “I want you to know Scott that I love you and Jesus does too!”
Tears began to block my vision and my body began to tremble, “Thanks grandpa, I love you too!” I said running up to him and embraced him in a hug, I didn’t care if I was 16, I truly loved My Grandpa and I wasn’t ashamed to show it. “Grandpa, do you think that God would really forgive me and save me after all I’ve done?”
“Yes!” He said with a wide grin, “Yes Scottie, he will.”
~
And that’s the story of how my life changed, and now even though it’s hard to believe, by God’s grace I am a preacher of a Baptist Church and have a beautiful family. You see I’m so glad my grandpa told me how to be saved, and even though I wanted to die after that accident, I believe that God kept me alive for a purpose!
And Let me tell you if you are a Christian to keep on telling others about Jesus and how they can escape Hell. Because while some people might not listen to your Warning some people might. Because even though I didn’t listen to Mr. Douglass’s warning, I listened to my grandpa’s and that was the most important Warning a person can ever listen to.

Always remember…
ONE WARNING CAN CHANGE A PERSON’S LIFE.

Ancestors of the forest

Ancestors of the forest
The legend of Robin Hood has been known for centuries….
But there is a story untold…
Until today!

Rhoda and her brother Harvey ran as fast as their feet could carry them away from the flames! There town was on fire and they were fleeing to the woods for safety! Everything that they had loved and cherished had been destroyed! Their parents were dead, and the only place they could go for safety was Sherwood forest!
~
5 YEARS LATER…..

Rhoda’s eyes were glued to the buck only a few feet in front of her, she crept up silently to get a little closer. Raising her bow she pulled back and let go! The arrow flew through the air lodging in the buck’s forehead!
“Bulls eye!” said Harvey standing next to his older sister, “you have perfect aim!”
“Thanks” said Rhoda.
Rhoda and Harvey cut as much meat off the buck as they could carry and headed to their hide-out. They had been living in the woods for 5 years learning to live in nature and survive the dangers of the forest.
When they reached their hide-out, Rhoda started to prepare the meat for dinner. When she was finally done, they headed up to their favorite seat- a ledge above an enormous water-fall! When they sat down they could hear the water roaring down into the stream, crashing against the rocks below. After a few moments of silence, they heard a faint cry in the distance.
“Did you hear that?” Rhoda asked Harvey.
“Ya, what was it?”
“I don’t know! Let’s go check it out, but be careful!” said Rhoda.
They headed down the steep ledge towards the bottom of the falls where the sound became louder. When they reached the end, they could hear loud crying.
“It sounds like a baby!” whispered Harvey.
Looking around they spotted a basket at the edge of the stream.
“Harvey, look!” cried Rhoda.
Sitting in the basket was a beautiful baby boy, crying.
“What on earth!” exclaimed Harvey.
Rhoda picked the baby up out of the basket.
“The poor thing! Who could ever leave their baby alone? The poor thing is wet and freezing, we must take him back to the hide-out!” said Rhoda.
They took the baby home and wrapped him in rags.
“We must find out who left him!” exclaimed Rhoda.
“Why?” asked Harvey, “they won’t want him, they left him because they didn’t!”
“Nobody could be so heartless!” gasped Rhoda, “I will put out a notice in town saying that I found a baby and see if anybody responds!”
“And what if they don’t?” said Harvey, “are we going to keep him?”
“We will talk about that when the time comes, but as of now, we are keeping him until somebody replies to that notice!”
~
Farefold castle- 9 miles away.

“My majesty, I have a message for you!” said the messenger. He had urgent news for Queen Brianna.
“Well what is it? It better be something important!” said Brianna in an aggravated tone.
“It is news about the baby, maam” said the messenger.
“What news?” asked Brianna, “he is sup post to be gone-dead!”
“Well that is the problem,” said the messenger, “I just found this in town, I thought you might want to see it!”
“Give it to me!” snapped Brianna.
The messenger passed this notice to the queen:
                           Baby boy found
If you know who this baby is please leave a note at the entrance of Sherwood forest under the rotting tree hump!
“What? No! No! No!” screamed Brianna, “this cannot be true! He is sub post to be dead! No one must know of his existence! I am the heir to the throne, I say, I am!”
Brianna was thinking in her mind all she had gone through to be queen- her brother and his wife had died leaving herself to the throne, but just a few months previous she found out that her brother’s wife had had a child- the rightful heir to the throne. But Brianna could not let anyone else know that this child was born and still living, she ordered one of her troops to get rid of the baby and now he was found! How could this happen? The baby had to die! She now needed to send a group of guards to kill the baby once and for all!
                 ~
“I got a response!” yelled Harvey, “there was a letter in the tree hump!”
“Let me see!” said Rhoda.
  The letter read:

We know who the baby boy is. Meet us tomorrow at the bottom of the water-fall at noon. Bring the baby.
“There is something strange about this,” said Rhoda, “they did not leave a name or anything.”
“Well… we are still going to meet them though right?” asked Harvey.
“I guess we should, but I’m still a little curious about who these people are! It is going to be hard to let Robin go now, I have really begun to love him!” said Rhoda.”
“Robin? You named the baby?”
“Yes! I thought robin was a nice name!”
“Hump!” snorted Harvey, “you are getting too attached!”
                                     ~
The next day Rhoda and Harvey took robin down to the bottom of the water-fall to meet the mysterious persons who left the letter. When they reached the bottom, everything was silent and still.
“Hello!” hollered Rhoda, “is anybody there?”
A man in a black cape appeared from behind a tree.
“I am here!” the man said in a mean, stern voice, “know please pass over the baby!”
Rhoda heard movement in the forest. as she looked closely she could see the shadows of three more cloaked men in the forest.
“Something is going on here,” whispered Rhoda to Harvey.
“Like what?” said Harvey.
“There are more men in the woods!” said Rhoda, “I’m glad I brought my bow, we might be in danger!”
“What are you whispering?” yelled the man in the cloak.
“Nothing of your concern,” said Rhoda, “why do you want the baby? Who is he?”
The man chuckled.
“I am surprised you do not know yet,” said the man, “he is the rightful heir to the throne!
“What?” gasped Harvey, “but the queen Brianna just took over the throne because of her brother’s death!”
The man laughed again, “The baby you are now holding is her brother’s son! Queen Brianna has ordered his execution, but you are not sub post to know that, so now we are going to kill you along with the baby!”
With that an arrow came flying through the woods missing Rhoda by a fraction of an inch.
“Run!” shouted Rhoda.
Rhoda and Harvey went running into the woods with robin in Rhoda’s arms.
Arrows were zooming all over the forest in all directions.
Pausing for a mere second, Rhoda turned around and shot an arrow into the chest of one of the four cloaked men. The chase lasted for many minutes until Rhoda and Harvey did a sharp turn into a ditch, they knew the land well and that was an advantage, but they were greatly outnumbered.
Harvey and Rhoda hid in the ditch for a few moments, when all of the sudden baby robin started crying.
“Shhh!” cried Rhoda, “you must keep quite!”
Rhoda turned to her brother.
“Harvey, we have to keep robin safe! We must take him to a village and give him to a family who does not know who he really is! He will be safe if he does not know his true identity!”
With that Rhoda took the baby in her hands and jumped out of the ditch.
“Hurry! They will hear robin crying, we must get out of the forest!

“Not so fast little lady!”
Rhoda whipped around. standing there was the man in the cape!
“Hand me over the baby!” said the man.
“Never!” Rhoda said in a strong firm voice, and then she went running.
The man raised his bow and the arrow went flying towards the baby in Rhoda’s arms!
“No!” screamed Harvey.
Harvey took his bow and shot the man in the heart but it was too late. Rhoda stood still on the ground,  but robin was safe.
Harvey went running to his sister.
“No! No! No!” he screamed.
“get- th-e bab-y t-o saf-ety” Rhoda gasped out and then she closed her eyes and died.
~
Harvey found a little village a few miles away. He gave robin to a kind farming family in a little cottage.
“Please teach him how to hunt!”  Harvey had told the family so that if robin was ever in danger when he grew up that he would be safe! And that little baby became known as:
              Robin Hood
